My time on a Disney Christmas cruise was truly a magical experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we boarded the ship, I was welcomed into a winter wonderland, with stunning holiday decorations that filled the atrium and festive music playing throughout. The excitement in the air was unmistakable, and I couldn't wait to see what holiday festivities awaited us. Disney really went all out, from the gingerbread houses and twinkling lights to the special themed experiences offered every day.
One thing that is done a bit different on Disney cruise is the door decorations and fish extenders. For the cabin doors people go all out with decorating them! I had magnets with my nieces favorite princesses and characters, different holiday themed magnets, Christmas lights, garland, and even Christmas stockings. The fish extenders is something that guests get together and plan prior to the ship, and it's a way to give gifts to your fellow cruises. It is a whole ordeal, but so awesome! And pixie dusting is definitely a thing. People will walk down the halls and just leave little treats/gifts for others. They don't know you, they just want to bless you!
One of the highlights of the cruise was the character meet-and-greets. I enjoyed taking pictures with my favorite Disney characters. In fact, I have multiple photos with the characters from throughout the cruise. One of my favorites though was a magic shot where they set you up in a certain way, with your hands out in front of you, and then they add Tinkerbell to your hands in editing.
As we sailed to stunning ports, the days blended into one another with relaxation and enjoyment. But some of the best times were staying on board the ship when everyone else got off. This allowed for unlimited water slide runs! And how about dressing up as a pirate and enjoying spectacular fireworks off the ship for Pirate Night!
The entire experience was definitely a top favorite of mine, and an amazing way to celebrate the holidays!
